Plan and then Do

Let’s switch gears and dive into one of my favorite topics—FOOD!
Lately, meal prepping feels like it’s having a major comeback! Remember when everyone was cooking at home during COVID? With remote work, rising grocery prices, and the whole "cost of living crisis," it seems like meal prepping is back in the spotlight—plus, who doesn’t love matching containers and an organized fridge?
But let's be real for a second: some of it feels a bit over the top. The point of meal prepping is to make life easier, not more stressful.
Here’s why I meal prep:
Convenience: Yes, I know you have to give up a few hours on a Sunday, but during the week, it’s a lifesaver! Just mix, reheat, and boom—meal done in minutes!
Nutrition: When I started focusing more on my health, I found it’s so much easier to eat healthy when I’m the one cooking. You know exactly what’s going into your food—no mystery sauces or hidden oils. You’re in control!
Cost: It’s SO much cheaper than ordering in or relying on pre-cooked options. By the end of the month, your wallet will thank you.
I admit, meal prepping takes a little bit of planning, but with Instagram and TikTok overflowing with easy, nutritious recipes, it’s never been simpler!
I follow a super easy 2+2+1 rule:
First 2 meals: These require more prep—think cooking, chopping, and usually a warm, hearty dish with some protein like chicken or beef.
Next 2 meals: These are usually salads that I can whip up the night before. Quick, fresh, and perfect for busy weekdays.
Friday’s meal: It’s a mystery! I either throw together whatever’s left in the fridge or treat myself to takeout (yes, that’s totally allowed!).
Starting out? Just pick 1-2 proteins, grab a variety of fruits and veggies, and have some easy sides like rice, pasta, or barley. With these basics, you can whip up delicious, balanced meals without overthinking it.
If you need help with a grocery list or recipe ideas, hit me up! I’m always happy to share.
